From a New York collection, this large reverse carved and painted crystal of a fox hunting scene is impressive with detail that is phenomenal. The colors are vibrant, and the carving remarkable with an impressive level of intricacy. The image is encased and framed in rope form of 14 kt yellow gold. It is in outstanding vintage condition. The glass dome is in perfect condition as is the carving. The riders, under an iridescent sky are making their way across the field. They are dressed in hunting scarlets with two couple of hounds in the foreground. The pin measures a generous 1 1/2" across and 1 1/4" tall. Including the crystal and dome it weighs 19.1 grams, the closure and straight pin are tight. It is maker marked with an arrow through a horizontal heart.  This brooch would be an heirloom gift for anyone, but especially the fox hunter.
